Sesame Street Live Giveaway (May 5-26)

What better way to get to Sesame Street than with a set of free tickets?

If you want to see Sesame Street Live when it comes to Fresno June 14, we have some good news for you. Thanks to a generous donation from Savemart Center, we’ve got three family 4-packs of Sesame Street Live tickets (6:30 pm performance) to give away to our social media followers.

Any adult FCPL cardholder can enter the ticket drawing, but to be eligible to win you must participate in our Alphabet Challenge:
  1. Take or create a picture of your favorite letter of the alphabet.
  2. Briefly explain why it is your favorite letter: What do you like so much about it? Why do you prefer it to the other 25 letters?
  3. Share your picture and explanation with us on social media—Twitter (@fcpl), Instagram (@fresnolibrary), and/or Facebook (@fresnolibrary), using the hashtag #FCPLSesameStreet
When you successfully complete these steps, you’ll be entered into a random drawing for the tickets! Three winners will be selected, one from each social media following, and winners will be notified via social media message.
For your submission(s) to be eligible, you must:
  • Meet the stated requirements for the “challenge.”
  • Set your photo to "Public" for the duration of the contest.

Hats off to Dr. Seuss: A Photo Celebration/Social Media Contest (March 2-19)





March 2-19: Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday (and “Read Across America”) in style, and be entered for a chance to win this prize pack!

FLASH CONTEST (2/10-11:59 PM, 2/15): WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE LOVE STORY?


Valentine's Day is almost here, and it's undeniable that love is in the air--and if publishing trends and Internet reading lists are any indication, many of us enjoy a good fictional love story, even when real-life romance doesn't quite pan out.

We want to know what/who your favorite fictional romances are. Tell us on Twitter, for a chance to win a  prize bundle, filled with great new books and other goodies!

January 25 is “Library Shelfie Day” and, to celebrate, we’re offering a fun flash contest for our social media followers.

Take a picture of yourself at any of the Fresno County Public Library branches and share it with us on Instagram (@fresnolibrary), Facebook (@fresnolibrary), and/or Twitter (@fcpl), using the hashtag #FresnoLibraryShelfie, for a chance to win a  prize bundle, filled with great new books and other goodies!

If you didn't win our #FCPLGlobetrotters contest, we've got some good news for you:
we're giving away one more family 4-pack of tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters' January 13, 7 pm performance at SaveMart Center!

Win tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters! (12/6-11:59 PM, 12/18)


Want to see the Harlem Globetrotters when they come to Fresno next year?

Enter our latest contest and that dream could become a reality. SaveMart Center has generously donated family 4-packs of tickets to the team’s January 13, 7 pm performance at SaveMart Center, and we’re giving them away!

Three fans/followers, one from each social media following, will win 4-packs of tickets. Another lucky winner will get to take home a 4-pack of tickets, plus a few extra surprises.
How to enter our giveaway:
  1. Like or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. 
  2. By 11:59 PM on Sunday, December 18, share a picture taken within a Fresno County Public Library branch that features a sports book or video available for checkout. The prizes are tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters, but the item in your photo does not have to be basketball-related. Soccer, rugby, ping pong, curling, equestrian—take your pick! But there’s a catch: some part of the library branch must be visible in your photo. Please note: Because of legal and privacy considerations, we will not accept photos that show any people’s faces (faces printed on book or video case covers excepted from this stipulation).
  3. If you’re connecting with us on Facebook, simply reply to the contest post. If you’re entering on Twitter (@FCPL) or Instagram (@fresnolibrary), be sure to tag us in your post.
